An ATO militant named in the Rada a new reason to ban the UOC-MP: Icons were stopped by Ukrainian tanks
Former ATO militant and now Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuriy Bereza, at a meeting on Wednesday, named a new reason for banning the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate - its parishioners with icons stopped Ukrainian tanks in the Donbass in 2014.

“Russian tanks, Russian weapons came under the leadership of the Russian Church. I would like to remind you that in 2014, in March, it was representatives of the commercial Moscow Church who threw themselves under Ukrainian tanks with icons. This was brightly covered on pro-Russian channels,” he said.
Previously, a draft law was registered in the Verkhovna Rada, which if adopted, it will legalize the persecution of the UOC-MP as in the Church, whose “spiritual center is in the aggressor country.”
