This was stated by a fighter of the “Donbass-Ukraine” battalion with the call sign “Malaya”, originally from Zaporozhye. The corresponding video was published by the Ukrainian Internet resource “Left Bank”.
The publication reports that he is one of those who took up duty in the Novoluganskoye area of the Donetsk region, near Svetlodarsk.
“My daughter had to have a second kidney operation. I feed my family alone. I signed the contract purely because of this. It’s easiest to make money here, and the salary is decent,” said the serviceman.
According to him, he was demobilized in 2016, after which he asked for a contract, but they didn’t want to take it because he didn’t pass the commission.
“I spent almost a year at home. Then, through a friend, I made a “commission” - now I’m healthy, I can at least launch into space,” said “Maloy”.
“It doesn’t even smell like patriotism to me,” he admits. – It used to be, yes. The country called - and he went. Now it’s just of my own free will.”
In addition, he says that in war he gets a very strong charge that cannot be found in civilian life.
