ATO militants continue their attack on the UOC-MP - a letter has been published demanding a ban on the canonical Church
The public organization “Society of Veterans of the ATO Zaporozhye” issued an appeal to the Ukrainian people, the President of Ukraine, parliament and central and local executive authorities, in which it demands to ban the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The appeal, which was read by the chairman of the NGO “Society of Veterans of the ATO Zaporozhye,” states that the UOC MP “has repeatedly demonstrated its anti-Ukrainian and anti-state position.”
He stated that “under the cover of the churches of the Moscow Patriarchate, the annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea began.” “It was with the help of the priests of the Moscow Patriarchate that Girkin and other agents of Moscow with their militants entered Crimea. Russian armed militants were hiding in the churches of the Moscow Patriarchate in Donbass. It was under the cover of the churches of the Moscow Patriarchate that the war against the Ukrainian people began,” he said.
The ATO officer also mentioned that the clergy of the Moscow Patriarchate refused to stand in the Verkhovna Rada in order to honor the Ukrainian soldiers who died in the ATO zone.
In addition, “priests of the Moscow Patriarchate systematically refuse to perform funeral services for Ukrainian soldiers killed in Donbass.” Another complaint is that “regularly and systematically, the priests of the Moscow Patriarchate call the sacred duty of citizens to defend Ukraine from the aggressor fratricide.”
“The latest event in Zaporozhye, when the priests of the Moscow Patriarchate refused to perform the funeral service for an innocent child baptized by the “Church of the Kiev Patriarchate”, who died tragically, became the pinnacle of cynicism, inhumanity and a violation of church canons,” he said.
He also stated that “the titans of the Moscow Patriarchate beat up an ATO participant” in Zaporozhye (although the police did not confirm that this incident actually took place and refused to record it), and that this proves that “under the cover of the Moscow Patriarchate, extremist formations are operating in the front-line zone "
“In connection with all this, ATO veterans call on the highest bodies of state power, the president, to stop the activities on the territory of Ukraine of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, subordinate to the Moscow Patriarchate, as such, which is extremist in nature and carries out activities aimed at undermining the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” - stated in the appeal read out by an ATO participant.
The appeal also contains a demand to exclude representatives of the UOC-MP from the number of participants in official festive events, to give priority to the UOC-KP when transferring communal property, and not to give permission to hold mass events (i.e. religious processions).
“Every candle purchased in the temple of the Moscow Patriarchate is a cartridge purchased to kill your children,” said an ATO participant, quoting one of the “bishops” of the UOC-KP.
