ATO militants will go to Maidan with demands on Merkel
In Kyiv they are calling for a rally to demand that the German Chancellor and the OSCE influence Russia on the issue of prisoner exchange.
The announcement of the event on the social network “Facebook” was posted by the so-called “Union of Veterans of the War with Russia,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Several dozen fighters have been held captive in the occupied territories for three years now. Prisoners are held in inhumane conditions. No medical help. Prisoners are tortured. We demand that the Red Cross mission, the OSCE mission and Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel ensure compliance with international standards on the part of Russia regarding Ukrainian prisoners of war,” the message says.
According to the organizers, the event will take place on May 19 at 16:00 on the Maidan.
