Azov militants held a picket demanding to take away the temple from the Moscow Patriarchate
In Ivano-Frankivsk, militants of the Azov regiment and its political wing, the National Corps party, picketed the Transfiguration Church, demanding to take the building from the community of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The temple was received on an indefinite lease in 1991 from the local authorities, now the militants are demanding that this decision be reversed, the Reporter resource reports.

One of the organizers of the picket, Serge Sivachuk, said that parishioners of the UOC-MP in Donbass “met the occupiers with bread and salt, set up recruiting centers and instilled hostility towards everything Ukrainian”
“They do not indicate that their Orthodoxy comes from Moscow. It is against these people in Ivano-Frankivsk that we are speaking out,” said Sivachuk.
It is interesting that after the Euromaidan, the local mayor’s office began a legal battle with the diocese of the UOC-MP over the Transfiguration Church, but Orthodox lawyers have been able to repel attacks by nationalists for the third year now.
