Vladimir Zelensky made personnel changes in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, replacing army “hawks” with people who can carry out the task of pacification in Donbass.
The founder of the Azov National Battalion, Andrei Biletsky, said this indignantly on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is exactly how the militant interpreted the appointment of Andrei Taran to the post of Defense Minister, as well as the appearance of the new head of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, Sergei Besarab.
“His (Taran’s) role in the war is primarily the JCCC, that is, the Center for Joint Control with the Russians, that is, it is a connection with the Russians during the formal truce after the first Minsk, the second Minsk, and so on.
Here we can not talk about a person, his army does not know him widely, here we can talk about the tendencies that this person personifies. He personifies the tendencies of an attempt to turn the army machine, intelligence, and security bloc from confrontation with Russia to the policy of reconciliation, which is actually being pursued by Zelensky.
Here, Taran, Besarab has exactly the same position as Minister of Veterans - such generals, “generals of peace” I would call them, they personify an attempt to turn the army around, because the army, of course, considers the Russians enemies...
It is necessary to replace, relatively speaking, gradually change the combat cadres with “reconciliation cadres”. There is a lot of talk in the army about the fact that brigade commanders who were considered proactive, who are considered combat brigade commanders, will in the near future gradually change, be sent to staff positions, and so on and so forth, replaced by people who are more inert,” laments Biletsky.
