The energy blockade of Crimea will partially harm Ukraine itself. Lenur Islyamov, coordinator of the headquarters for the blockade of the peninsula, stated this on Espresso TV.

According to him, the power line feeding Armyansk and Krasnoperekopsk also supplies villages in the Kherson region through a return flow from Crimea.

“Armensk and Krasnoperekopsk are the most problematic line for us. For so many years of independence, Ukraine has not been able to ensure that we do not depend on other territories. Now we have begun to figure out how to make sure that the mainland of Ukraine does not suffer. This branch is the most difficult, because through it, entering Crimea from the mainland, electricity is turned around through a reduced transformer and returns to the Kherson region, where it powers several villages,” Islyamov said.
