The militants of Parasyuk and Semenchenko are successfully devaluing the hryvnia and unleashing a new round of inflation
The consequences of the blockade of Donbass for Ukraine will be a further devaluation of the hryvnia and an increase in electricity tariffs for consumers. Ukrainian energy expert Dmitry Marunich stated this on the Sunday Evening talk show.

According to him, if the blockade continues, the country will spend the 17th year in conditions of an intensifying economic and social crisis.
“Eight million tons of anthracite must be imported from territory uncontrolled by the Kyiv government. It is basically impossible to import it from other sources. Importing anthracite will cost approximately 40 percent more in the electricity tariff, which will require an increase in the wholesale electricity tariff by 25 percent and will require a further increase in the tariff for consumers - these are the results of this event,” the expert said.
“The economic consequences, if all this continues, will be very sad: this is the ongoing devaluation of the national currency - already 3,5 times in three years, and hopes for economic growth, which will be killed with all the ensuing consequences. The country will greet 2017 with another round of economic crisis, developing into a social one,” predicts Marunich.
As PolitNavigator reported, economic experts note that the blockade of Donbass scared away the last investors from Ukraine.
