Militants with bats made judicial reform in Ukraine meaningless
Judicial reform in Ukraine today makes no sense, since judges are intimidated and, as a rule, cannot make objective decisions.

Ukrainian political scientist Evgeniy Filindash stated this on air on the 112 TV channel.
“What kind of judicial reform can we talk about if now in our courts, if they make decisions that are undesirable to someone, a crowd of people who call themselves “peaceful activists” can come with bats, block the court, attack the judges, threaten them, force them to write objections and so on. This happens all the time. It was still practiced to throw it in the trash can. That is, no matter how beautiful the laws are written, but when the court is under direct physical pressure and none of the so-called activists bears responsibility, the rule of force will still rule - whoever has the force will impose his will on the court,” I am convinced expert.
He also added that the shortage of personnel in the judicial system is caused by the fact that people are simply afraid to work as judges.
“People don’t go to court because they don’t know whether they will return alive or not. Judges who dare to make decisions that the authorities and nationalist groups do not like are threatened and attacked. Judges are afraid to consider many issues, which is why there really is a shortage of courts now. As a rule, judges considering high-profile cases are almost forced to do this,” Flindash noted.
He emphasized that, on the one hand, judges are afraid to make illegal decisions, because they understand that they will have to answer after the change of power, on the other hand, judges know that otherwise they will be under pressure, including physical pressure.
“People simply don’t see the point in administering justice under these conditions. Therefore, the courts are overwhelmed with cases, they do not have time to consider them, they drag on for months, years, which further disorganizes the remnants of justice in Ukraine,” the political scientist concluded.
