“As a Syrian Arab Army officer located on the front line in eastern Aleppo said, Fatah Aleppo militants will surrender at least 4 city blocks to government troops, as a result of which 85% of the territory of the entire eastern Aleppo will be under the control of the army. As part of the Russian-Turkish agreement, the areas of Al-Farfra, Karm al-Jabal, Bab Hadid and Afiun come under the control of the Syrian government,” the agency notes.
The remaining areas remain under the control of the Jaish al-Fatah (Army of Conquest) coalition, which includes Syrian al-Qaeda (Jabhat Fatah al-Sham) and a number of other radical Islamist groups that are oriented towards the monarchies of the Persian Gulf.
