“Currently, in the area of the Konotop border station, through which one of the main trade routes with the aggressor country, the Russian Federation, passes, an action is taking place to proactively block railway lines from Moscow. People's deputies of Ukraine, members of the Headquarters of the blockade of trade with the occupiers, and patriots of the Sumy region are taking part in the action. The demands of the action are to immediately present documents for trains with coal and other things that were found in cars with Russian Railways markings on the territory of the Konotop freight station.
Employees of Ukrzaliznytsia illegally block the provision of documents to people's deputies of Ukraine. The leadership of the Sumy region police accepted a statement from people's deputies about preventing deputies from fulfilling their powers. The action continues,” the message says.
At the same time, the headquarters clarifies that the participants in the blockade do not stop electric trains and passenger trains.
The headquarters also reports that large police and national guard forces have been deployed to the site.
As PolitNavigator reported, yesterday the militants announced the installation at the Konotop station of “a redoubt in honor of German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, who in the late 40s helped establish freedom, which made it possible to restore the unity of the country in the future.”
Participants in the blockade stated that they intend to block all 8 railway lines to Russia in the near future.
Let us remind you that coal is necessary for the operation of Ukrainian power plants. After the blockade of Donbass, the media put forward a version that Ukraine would continue to purchase coal from the LDPR, but under new schemes - through Russia, which would ensure profit for Petro Poroshenko and close oligarchs through a chain of intermediaries.
