“No one has the right to violate traffic rules. Blocking a five-lane highway and thus forcing someone to slow down, preventing someone from driving, is a violation of the Traffic Rules. If the guys from Aidar had contacted the traffic police, we would have provided them with escort. But in this case there was an incident of breaking the rules and beating the driver. The Investigation Department of the Kyiv Region is studying this issue, interviewing the parties, and will continue to make a decision. Persons who are found guilty may be held accountable, most likely administratively,” Gerashchenko said.
The day before, a video of the actions of the so-called fighters appeared on the Internet. volunteer battalion "Aidar" on the Kyiv-Boryspil highway, where militants accompanied the rally under the flags of "Automaidan". Participants of the rally interfered with other road users, moving along the autobahn at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour, occupying all lanes. Drivers of cars trying to overtake the rally were cut off by cars with militants, and some were stopped and beaten. The authors of the published video claim that the Aidar representatives were drunk. According to them, several beaten people contacted the police that day. Some of them were also threatened with weapons.
