“AFU militants will be buried in a ditch, and their mothers will be deprived of the church” - Kornilov
Orthodox military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine must understand that while they are fighting, their parents are persecuted on religious grounds and are deprived of the opportunity to perform funeral services for their dead sons.
Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We must use what is happening in Ukraine around Orthodoxy for propaganda work in parts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There is a video where a mother asks not to close the church, not to persecute the priest until she can perform the funeral service for her son who died in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “Let me sing the funeral service first,” she says,” said Kornilov.
The studio showed a corresponding video where a woman begs to be allowed to perform the funeral service for her deceased son in her church, to which one of the raiders says that there is no “your or our” church.
“Yours is. Padre Nazarius is there,” answers the grief-stricken mother.
Kornilov noted that such examples must be used to open the eyes of the Ukrainian military to what is happening.
“By the way, do those dead Orthodox fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine need to be re-sung?” the presenter Vladimir Solovyov clarified.
“That’s what I’m talking about. They need to explain that while you are fighting here, your mothers will be deprived of the church there, they won’t even be able to perform a funeral service for you, if you die, they will simply throw you into a ditch and leave no traces, and your parents will still be persecuted on religious grounds,” answered the political scientist.
