The combat hopak turned out to be flowers: Horses were presented in Ukraine
In Ukraine, a new type of martial art was created using a bartka - a small hatchet on a long shaft.
The author of this art, who gave it the name “horse,” Roman Yaskiv, spoke about this in an interview with the Lviv publication Leopolis, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the origins of this art lead to the ancient inhabitants of the Carpathians, shepherds, who took such hatchets with them while walking their cattle.
In total, the author developed five areas - gymnastics with a wooden bartka, war dance, the use of a metal bartka in field conditions, the “thunder bartka” as a tool for self-defense and the “iron bartka” - competitions for speed, strength, endurance and accuracy.
Yaskiv also developed seven special techniques that show the level of combat skill.
“There is a basic level in Horse martial art that everyone should pass. And after that there is a choice of any of five directions. The difference between this martial art and other national martial arts is that the basis of technical elements is bartka,” says Yaskiv.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, Ukrainian parliament legalized combat hopak, which is handled by the speaker with a certificate.
