The combat course of the Russian aircraft brought horror to Ukrainian sailors
A Russian fighter jet scared Ukrainian sailors during exercises in the Black Sea.
According to the press service of the Ukrainian Naval Forces, the patrol boat Starobelsk, previously transferred to Ukraine by the United States of America, was firing at sea, coastal and air targets when a Russian military aircraft flew over them.
“During going to sea, special attention was paid to testing the combat capabilities of the boat’s artillery systems. The Starobelsk crew performed combat firing exercises at sea, coastal and air targets. Military sailors learned to hit a floating mine, which was located at a distance of 200 meters.
In addition, they repelled enemy air attacks from several directions and carried out a “battle” with the enemy ship... At the end of the combat training exercises, the Ukrainian sailors were tasked with escorting the Ukrainian reconnaissance ship Pereyaslav.
Coming closer, Ukrainian sailors discovered (and not for the first time) Russian warships in the area of occupied gas fields - this is the Russian Federal Security Service patrol boat Izumrud and the Black Sea Fleet missile boat Ivanovets, as well as a Russian military aircraft that entered the combat course several times over the Ukrainian boat,” the message says.
The Ukrainian department also emphasized that Starobelsky is commanded by Pavel Gladchenko, a graduate of the Naval Academy named after. Nakhimov, which was previously located in Sevastopol and trained Ukrainian military sailors.
Gladchenko was among those who sang the Ukrainian anthem as the Russian flag was raised over the academy building.
