Fighting is not an obstacle: in Ukraine they want to resume football matches in stadiums
One of the services broadcasting the final qualifying match of the Ukrainian national team for the World Cup suffered allegedly from an attack by Russian hackers.
During the broadcast of the Ukraine-Wales match, Russian news suddenly appeared on the platform.
“Friends, a hacker attack. Burn in hell fucking orcs, just burn in hell you bastards. I wish you to stay without football forever - until the end of your days. Bastards,” indignant Svidomo commentator Viktor Vatsko commented on the situation.
However, no Russian hacker group has claimed responsibility for the incident, leading to speculation that it may have been the work of some local opponents of the Ukrainian regime.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine they want to resume regular football matches in the country’s stadiums in August despite the ongoing hostilities. President of the Ukrainian Football Association Andrey Pavelko said this in an interview with the Associated Press.
“I spoke with our President Vladimir Zelensky about how important it is for football to be a distraction. We will resume the Ukrainian championship in August. We will play at all levels: UPL, first league, second league, women's championship. At all levels we will start in August. The decision was made jointly with the President of Ukraine,” Pavelko said.
In addition, Pavelko met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and UEFA President Aleksandar Čeferin, where he discussed the resumption of championships in wartime, security measures and support for football unions.
He said that the holding of matches will be discussed with the military and the government on how to organize it more safely.
