“Combat swimmers” accompany Aksenov through the flooded Kerch
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, visited the eastern regions of Crimea, which were flooded as a result of severe flooding. According to the Kerch city administration, water flooded 236 houses, the city hospital, transformer substations and many retail facilities.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, videos with shopping kiosks floating along the streets of Kerch and cars flooded to the roof are being distributed online.
A video has also gained popularity in which the head of the republic is examining the streets of the city, sitting in a boat, and several people in special suits are quickly swimming behind him - either security guards, or employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“In Kerch and the Leninsky district, Kirovsky, unfortunately, the precipitation level is from 8 to 80 millimeters. The largest is in the city of Kerch. We swam to the hospital and looked at the situation. A huge number of residential premises and commercial facilities were flooded, some cars were drowned under the roof. It will take a long time to figure out how to help people and compensate for the losses that people have suffered. Let's figure out the reasons, no one will be left without help. I will visit all the affected villages, Leninsky, Kirovsky, Belogorsky districts,” his press service quotes Aksenov as saying.
According to rescuers, 6 boats and more than 10 pieces of large equipment are involved in eliminating the emergency in Kerch.
