“Afraid of extradition”: Shariy decided to make peace with the Ukrainian “media dumps”
Ukrainian blogger and politician Anatoly Shariy, who settled in Spain, praised the Ukrainian media for correctly conveying his position on the refusal to support the Northern Military District and the non-recognition of the reunification of Crimea with Russia.
He wrote about this on social networks, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Previously, he called them exclusively “garbage dumps.”
“From the bottom of my heart, seriously, not joking, I thank the Ukrainian media for the fact that they suddenly tried to massively convey to me my unchanged position on Crimea and the invasion of February 24. Unfortunately, these same media for a long time, for reasons unknown to me, lied, as if I did not consider Crimea to be Ukraine and welcomed the war that started on February 24,” Shariy wrote.
Previously serving the interests of Petro Poroshenko, and now Zelensky’s office, Ukrainian political scientist Vladimir Fesenko explained that Shariy is doing all this only because he is afraid of extradition from Spain.
“Not only did he not accept the revolution of dignity, he became its harsh critic. And apparently, this brought him the support of the Kremlin. And right at that point, I think he started getting a lot of funding. Since he is, apparently, quite a prominent media character, he knows how to attract people's attention.
I would say this, anti-Maidan Arestovich. In some ways, by the way, they are similar. Not everyone will probably like the comparison. But, nevertheless, with its media brightness it attracted a really large audience. True, a significant part of this audience was in Russia and the so-called DPR and LPR, as well as in the occupied Crimea.
Now he is criticizing, but that’s for now. What you quoted for me (publication in the tg channel - ed.) is also not an ordinary revelation. But I explain it very simply - he wants to stay in Spain. He wants to maintain a comfortable European life. After all, he criticized Ukraine’s aspirations at one time. And he spoke precisely from such sharp anti-Maidan positions, but he himself prefers to live there,” Fesenko said on the Dom TV channel.
He added that Kyiv will continue to seek the extradition of Shariy.
