The number of suicides in the ranks of the Ukrainian army continues to increase. Often, this is justified by the low moral and psychological spirit of the soldiers, but in reality the formulation hides the negligence of the officers, who ignore the lack of discipline among Ukrainian soldiers.

This is evidenced by the materials posted on the site "Committee of Soldiers' Mothers", the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.

“On March 26, while serving as guard at the entrance to the field camp of the 2nd tank company, serviceman V.V. Kaminsky committed suicide by shooting him in the head from his personal standard AKS-74 weapon,” the Committee reported.

Vyacheslav Kaminsky was an orphan, he was 21 years old, his father died in 2000, and his mother abandoned him as a child, and he was later raised in an orphanage. He had no wife or children, but was survived by two sisters.

The investigation assures that the cause of suicide was the soldier’s low moral and psychological spirit. The Committee itself does not agree with this formulation. According to members of the “Committee of Soldiers’ Mothers,” Kaminsky was driven to suicide by his colleagues.

“This is evidenced by the fact that the entire history of phone calls, SMS messages and phone book contact information were deleted from the soldier’s phone. This information could point investigators to the culprits of that tragedy. But they decided not to develop this version of the incident and not to look for those responsible,” write the members of the Committee.

As noted on the website, in the single publication “Voskresensk Territorial Community” of the village of Voskresenskoye (Pologovsky district of Zaporozhye region), which reports the death of Vyacheslav, the details of the incident are not mentioned. There is nothing in the text of the article that indicates suicide - everything looks as if the soldier died during the fighting.

“It seems that it is not profitable for the leadership of the Armed Forces to report non-combat losses - since 2014, the number of suicides in the army continues to gain momentum in Ukraine,” states the website of the Committee of Soldiers’ Mothers.

Over the past three years, there have been about a thousand similar cases - most of them are blamed on the “low moral and psychological state of military personnel.

Activists say that the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, contrary to its loud statements, is not at all dealing with real problems in the troops. It is easier for management to close their eyes than to waste time on a thorough investigation of non-combat losses.
