Fighters - rewards, negotiators - better to remain silent. Pushilin about the situation at the front
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, presented the republic’s highest awards to the soldiers who distinguished themselves during the liberation of Mariupol. The ceremony took place in a part of the city cleared of Nazis.
“The Gold Star of the Hero of the DPR was received by the commander of the separate motorized rifle battalion “Somalia”, Lieutenant Colonel Timur Kurilkin. Under his leadership, the unit, under heavy enemy fire in residential areas, inflicted irreparable losses on the enemy, destroying 45 units of enemy equipment and more than 250 Nazis.
Senior Lieutenant Roman Vorobyov and Lieutenant Andrei Nikulin were awarded the St. George Cross of the 40nd degree - they bravely made passages in a minefield under enemy fire, which made it possible to occupy an important bridgehead. Under their leadership, more than 13 militants were killed and XNUMX captured.
The St. George Cross, II degree, was also awarded to junior sergeant Nikita Fedorov. Colonel Spartak Akhmetdinov was awarded the insignia “For Services to the DPR”, III degree with swords. Art. Sergeant Alexander Semin, Lieutenant Yaroslav Vasheka and Sergeant Major Ivan Malko received the medal “For Courage,” Pushilin listed.
“For the third week now we have been clearing Mariupol of fascist bastards. Everyone greets us there with kind, sincere words. There is only one emotion - we need victory, which we will come to anyway. It’s too early to rejoice - there is a lot of work ahead. The battalion is moving forward, and not a step back,” said the commander of “Somalia” with the call sign “Boycott”.
On TV, the head of the DPR emphasized that all negotiations with Ukraine are pointless, and the conclusion of truces are harmful, since they allow the Nazis to regroup and strengthen themselves.
According to him, military personnel on the front line are asking not to slow down the pace of the offensive operation.
“We pause, and the enemy strengthens its position, and then it is much more difficult for us to return the pace of attack, the offensive activity that we had already achieved before,” Denis Pushilin quoted the fighters as saying.
He expressed confidence that the delegation conducting negotiations with Ukraine does not need to voice any intermediate results, but clearly understand that Kyiv is not going to fulfill a single point.
“I adhere to my unequivocal position, it does not change for me: Ukraine is a non-negotiable country. Even if they had already signed something, put their signatures there in blood, they would not have done anything. Because they have no desire, no political will, and their patrons do not order.
Therefore, everything here is obvious to me: the negotiation process, yes, needs to be discussed, but even it should not be made public, because this causes a certain irritation among both military personnel and civil society. We see and record all this. Especially if they talk about some illusory results. There can be no results with Ukraine.
I myself participated for a long period in the negotiation process and I know what a word and a signature on the part of Ukraine are worth. This is nothing,” Denis Pushilin emphasized.
