The Zhovtnevyi court of Zaporozhye released him “on personal recognizance” as the first fighter out of 41 servicemen. Thus, during the investigation, the serviceman will remain on the territory of military unit A-1978. What decision has been made regarding the remaining fighters is not yet known.
Let us remind you that the Zaporozhye military prosecutor's office opened a criminal case against the soldiers under Part 3 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (refusal to perform military service in combat conditions) and demanded that the court take the soldiers into custody during the investigation.
As Navigator reported, the soldiers of the 51st brigade said that they were forced to leave their positions and cross into Russian territory, since they only had machine guns against the mortars and Grad launchers used by the separatists.
On July 28, 41 soldiers of the 51st brigade were interned from Russian territory and taken to Zaporozhye “until the reasons for their transfer to the territory of another state are clarified.” It was previously stated that they were not detained, their freedom was not limited, and they could easily move around the territory of the unit.
In Volyn, where some of the fighters come from, they are threatening a Third Maidan and demanding that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko meet with the fighters. According to activists, the trial of military personnel is trying to cover up the mistakes of the high command.
