The regional prosecutor's office opened criminal proceedings against employees of the Kharkov-1 special police patrol battalion, the City Watch website reports. According to the publication's source, the policemen are also accused of robbery.
“All three defendants – a senior sergeant, a sergeant and a junior sergeant – are new to the police, since they all came to work there in the summer of this year, and committed a brutal crime on the evening of September 30 in Kharkov on one of the city streets,” the prosecutor’s office said.
“Gavrilenko is 46 years old. He is a resident of the village of Kozachaya Lopan, Dergachevsky district in the Kharkov region, unemployed. He was in Kharkov on his own business and fell under the hot hand of the police by accident, which he personally stated in his statement,” the prosecutor’s office said about the victim.
