According to the publication "Pravda.if" with reference to one of the volunteers who serves in the 5th territorial defense battalion.
“It all started with the departure of volunteers from the Carpathian region to the east. The dispatch began so quickly and unexpectedly that it seemed as if the military commissar of the Carpathian region was currying favor with someone,” the soldier said. – Nobody (not even the battalion commander) knew the location of the unit’s future deployment. When our soldiers got into the ATO zone, they simply rode school buses there for some time without receiving any commands.”
Once they almost drove to the rear of the militias, after which soldiers from other units told them: "Guys, you just walk under God."
Let us remind you that yesterday, near Amvrosievka, the chief of staff of the 5th territorial battalion “Prykarpattya” Yuriy Baran died from a sniper’s bullet. Before this, the battalion was fired upon.
According to an eyewitness, in the place where one company of Carpathians was sent along with Captain Baran, in front of them stood Ukrainian contract paratroopers: people who had already been to hot spots. But due to heavy fire they were forced to leave their positions.
Then in their place the command of the ATO decided to send soldiers from Ivano-Frankivsk. Not taking into account that the guys have only small arms and do not have armored vehicles at all.
The Carpathians fell under frantic mortar fire, among them there were many shell-shocked people, but for a long time there was no transport in the command for evacuation. In the end, school buses arrived for the soldiers, and when the chief of staff got out of the vehicle to scout the road, he was killed.
“In conclusion, the soldier conveyed greetings to the regional military commissar Pavlyuk and said that all the personnel were looking forward to a warm meeting with him,” writes Pravda.if.
