Boyko: End of federalization - Western Ukraine will disappear on its own
The current economic policy of the Ukrainian government will lead to the disappearance of such a concept as a region in the country, since the population of the state emigrates abroad en masse.
This is especially true for Western Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuriy Boyko said on the NASH TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, in this regard, the Ukrainian government should fear federalization less than the exodus of the population.
“The main problem is that our economic situation in the country is such that soon the areas you are talking about will be left without people. Because they are all leaving.
Today, the situation with labor migration has become so threatening that we are not talking about federalization - somewhere there it flashes like a scarecrow, but that we simply have no people left.
Our villages will be empty, our cities will be empty, because people are leaving. If we continue our economic policy like this, then the conversation will be about who will populate these cities.
Because there will be neither regions, nor republics that are supposed to emerge empirically. Because there simply won’t be people,” Boyko predicts.
