Boyko will be ruined by flirting with Westerners instead of fighting for the interests of Russians
Ukrainian society is so divided that the victory of a candidate who would promise to take into account the interests of the Russian South-East and the anti-Russian West of Ukraine is impossible in the upcoming elections.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Is it possible to hear a presidential candidate who will take into account the interests of the West and the East in his program? I would like to hear this, but... Society is so radicalized that to imagine a candidate who wants to take votes both here and there - he will get zero. They don’t overlap,” he noted.
However, Pogrebinsky admitted that promises to take into account the interests of the West and the East could be heard from the ex-“regional” Yuri Boyko.
“I think there will be the same Boyko who says that “We will take into account the interests of Western Ukraine.” But it is impossible to imagine that Poroshenko would say something like that, because before his first elections he positioned himself as a peacemaker, as a person who would respect the interests of both. Today he cannot say this, because no one will believe it after what he has done over all these years,” the political scientist concluded.
