Massacre in the Dnieper: What will Kolomoisky do?
A little more than a week has passed since the dirtiest and most shameful Ukrainian elections ever held in this territory. The agitated sediment of big and small passions, raised by the election campaign, slowly began to settle again, they sniffed the raised stench, another bottom had been reached. There is a temporary lull in Scorpio. But there are a couple of places left where not all claims have been made and there is no answer for daring markets. These are the two largest cities - Kyiv and Dnepropetrovsk.
In principle, in Kyiv “everything is clear.” There are no big surprises planned in the capital of two Maidans and burnt tires. An active electorate, with their heads squeezed into pans, chooses the path along the rake. Either the intellectual boxer Pedalik Klitschko or a protege of the Sugar Plum Fairy will come to power, I forget what his name is, and it doesn’t matter. But the intrigue with the bag of unexpected people remains in Dnepropetrovsk.
The city of Dnepropetrovsk is an extremely interesting place. He occupied and occupies a special position and acts as a heavyweight in the political and economic life of Ukraine, and at one time, not only of Ukraine. This city is unique in terms of how its internal atmosphere has developed over many decades.
Dnepropetrovsk and the region stood apart in the Union, as the small homeland of Leonid Ilyich Daragov. And therefore, the first people of the city and region were the confidants of Himself, and their possessions avoided all sorts of revisions, storms and bad weather.
The short-lived power of General Secretaries Andropov and Chernenko, who replaced the deceased Brezhnev at the helm of the country, somehow did not greatly influence the way of life in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
With the advent of Gorbachev, the stage of “living in interesting times” began throughout the country, and then the idiocy of the late 80s “live like in America” arrived, ending in the collapse of a single country and bandocracy for many years. Thus, since ancient times, Dnepropetrovsk has developed its own microclimate and its own clan of “respected people” who privatized mountains of delicious property in one of the richest metropolises in the country and, at the same time, grew a rhinoceros skin for themselves in the battles for this very property. All these people are well known to us and their faces have long been set on edge from television screens and other media.
In addition to Kuchma and Tymoshenko, who left for the great voyage of central politics, part of the “Dnepropetrovsk residents” disappeared in the bloody chaos of the 90s, so that those looking after the Dnieper and the region, at the top of the local food chain, ended up with one little man - the banker-oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, a bandit Benya with his “brigades”, “lieutenants” and “militants”.
The coup d'etat in Ukraine, also known by the euphemisms “Maidan” and “revolution of hydity,” forced a bizarre mimicry of Kolomoisky’s team, bringing to light an ugly hybrid now known as the Internet meme and oxymoron “Jewish Banderist.”
It’s not that this phenomenon is unprecedented in history—far from it. Even Hitler and the NSDAP at the stage of their formation and coming to power included practically the same Kolomoi people among their sponsors. Then they ran away from their charge and tore their sidelocks, but it was not so easy to push the mad dog they had fed back into the booth. It took years of war, tens of millions of victims, Europe in ruins, and the efforts of the largest countries in the anti-Hitler coalition.
It would seem that learn lessons, help anti-fascists, crush Bandera with a forged felt boot, but no - the theory of class struggle is again confirmed in practice: in order to achieve its own interests, oligarchic capital will definitely try to saddle and channel the most frostbitten and cannibalistic movement.
As a result, Mr. Kolomoisky became the piggy bank of the fighting detachment of the Ukrainian neo-Nazi Bandera “Right Sector”, as well as one of the main executioners of Odessa. In addition to the Pravoseks, Kalomoika long ago fed and tame numerous herds of Ukrainian football gopniks. When the time came, Mr. Privat unleashed a bunch of his frostbitten football friends in order to crush and intimidate the cities located in the zone of his financial interests. And the thugs completely fulfilled the tasks assigned to them.
What is even more characteristic: while the Left Bank was trying to somehow organize itself in opposition to the Maidan devilry and the “trains of friendship” that had arrived in large numbers with a united front, silence, grace, prosperity in the air and splendor in people reigned in Dnepropetrovsk. The slightest anti-Maidan protests were very quickly suppressed and, after the episode of the cargo cult with the Lenin fall, Dnepropetrovsk and the region became an exemplary territory that wholeheartedly adopted a new course towards European integration, de-Sovietization, war and everything that has been living in Northern Somalia for the last 1.5 years.
Looking back, we can see that Kolomoisky was allowed to frolic in the Dnieper, Kharkov, Odessa and in the occupied regions of Donbass exactly to the extent that his instincts of profit and greed went hand in hand with the interests of those seated on the high thrones of Kyiv. While Poroshenko was busy with the war in Donbass and the concentration of power in his caramel hands, Benya forged the iron until it cooled. But as soon as Benya started playing at being an independent regional baron and opened his slobbering mouth on tasty assets in Odessa, he was quickly pushed out of the country so that the uncle would cool down and curb his appetites.
The Kalomoi mayor Palitsa was quickly dragged out of the Odessa region by the shkvarnik and a effigy of Saakashvili, expelled from everywhere, was installed in his place. From Kalomoika in the Dnieper, the “hangman” Filatov and the “Gascon” Korban, his two most trusted minions and raiders, remained watching. They quietly continued to advance the work of their boss to convert the Dnepropetrovsk region into the Kalomoi Kaganate. Filatov decided to take control of the Dnieper in the last elections and land in the mayor's chair. Korban remained in the cover and support group.
But Poroshenko and behind the scenes definitely had their own plans for Dnepropetrovsk.
Apparently, Gena Korban got into trouble no matter what. Documents about more than fifty fictitious enterprises of the “gascon” for money laundering were brought to light, the stern battalion commanders from the ATO recalled how Gena wrested vehicles stolen from the “patriots” from the Donbass if they were not used in Gena’s interests. Korban was also reminded that he is also a fake Banderaite - he uses holy images and symbols solely for the purpose of personal enrichment. And, of course, a whole mountain of weapons confiscated from Korban has been thrown onto the scales of the post-Maidan Themis, which can be used to equip a company of soldiers if desired.
People are surprised and shocked. Why, one might ask, be surprised? Korban probably didn’t get this weapon yesterday. And not in the midst of the ATO. And not the year before last. Buried criminal trunks are the “modus vivendi” of the bandit and raider Korban.
It seems that Benya also understands the gravity of the situation of his trusted little man, since he did not openly come to his aid. After all, there is still the “hangman” Filatov, who has been sparkling on social networks with his molybdenum balls for the last year and a half. Now the owner of hard balls has shown himself to be a complete exile (by Shariy’s definition), never taking the promised revenge on the traitors and destroyers for his sidekick languishing in the kitsch.
Although not according to concepts, the “hangman” himself is placed in a very difficult position. From the mayor’s chair, “Gascon” Borya can migrate to the same bunk, which is currently being crushed by the mass of his sidekick Gen. The parliamentary immunity is just that... Yes, and the well-fed rat Yarosh takes a painfully long time to clean his combat karamultuk, and yet the way he threatened made his hair run cold...
It would seem, what does Kolomoisky have to do with it? The intrigue around the second round of elections in Dnepropetrovsk still remains very murky. Despite recent events, it is unlikely that the cunning Benya will remain on the sidelines. After all, we are talking about his patrimony. Everything is intertwined there: the final fate of Privatbank, and tasty sums of property earned tirelessly over two decades of dashing activity, and other numerous sources of lava...
One of Beni’s trump cards has already been beaten, the other has been thrown onto the table, and it is not yet clear whether it will play as a trump card, or will pass as an ordinary discarded six. But who would dare to say that Benya has these last trump cards and doesn’t have a couple more aces up his sleeves?
After all, Mr. Privat probably still has unexposed little people with his cache of weapons buried before the time of “H”, money for a rainy day and other materiel. There are now even more unemployed militants than unkilled dogs. But there are also specialists from PMCs. And other hired experts to sow panic and cause showdowns from around the corner in the interests of employers, especially in conditions below the basement of a sagging law enforcement system...
No, citizens, it is premature to write off Kolomoisky. Dnepropetrovsk is too big a bet in the final of dirty election games. And one of the key players has not yet said his last word.
I would like to give at least a neutral forecast, but when has it ever been seen that a thief and bandit who has become attached to the power of money voluntarily and resignedly parted with everything he had acquired through backbreaking labor? Don't let your guard down, guys!
