Boxer Usik stopped entering the ring to the song of his favorite ATO group
Boxing champion Alexander Usik stopped entering the ring to the song of the Ukrainian nationalist group “Shadow of the Sun” after an ideological conflict with the group, who wrote one of the favorite songs of the ATO participants “Sword of Areya”.
The leader of the group, Sergei Vasilyuk, stated this on air on the Tisa TV channel.

According to him, the conflict initially began with the issue of paying the group royalties for the use of the song “The Cossacks Rode,” which was played when the boxer entered the ring. However, the dispute finally became insoluble after Usik’s “unpatriotic” statement about Crimea.
“He is the most famous athlete who took it. And, indeed, he helped us with this. There were some questions about (royalties). We were less interested in these deductions and more interested in the position of Alexander Usik. When he said that "Crimea is Crimea, and the Russians and I are one people, Slavs“, this was very unpleasant for me, especially when it was during the war.
You can think of it as you like, but a public person needs to somehow live up to his image. If he is so loved by the patriotic public, then you need to be with him.
This conflict was not resolved, and he (Usyk) simply began to come out to a different song,” said the lead singer of “Shadow of the Sun.”
