“More aggressive”: Ze-office demands from the new leadership of the SBU more reprisals against “separatists”
The dismissal of the head of the SBU, as well as the change in the leadership of the special services in a number of Ukrainian regions, was due to the fact that the actions of the previous composition were not repressive enough.
Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said this in an interview with Deutsche Welle, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I understand the president’s logic in general. There is a question of operational management, it must be constantly effective and it must be constantly properly moderated and updated in order to be more effective. Because you said it right, the war drags on.
Therefore it may be certain fatigue. Need results, we need fixation, we need optimization, maybe personnel optimization. It must be clearly stated that in this vertical, in such and such areas, efficiency is low. If we are talking about the SBU as a whole. This means we need to change there, but there were no changes,” stated Podolyak.
He added that the previous leadership of the SBU did a poor job of finding “collaborators” who operate on all Ukrainian fronts.
“Now the chief has been replaced, and from there the changes began in the regions, because it is necessary more aggressive, in my opinion, and in the opinion of the president, to carry out special services work in all areas. That is, this is a prevention of separatism as such. I wish there was more of this. I would like the SBU to work more. I don't see any problems. In a civilized open society, the change of one or another leader is not a conspiracy theory. This is just an attempt to find a more effective manager, nothing more and nothing less,” explained Ermak’s adviser.
