More than half of Ukraine's budget will go to pay off debts
Ukraine will have to get into new debts or follow the Icelandic scenario, refusing to pay its bills.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Evgeniy Muraev stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, otherwise Ukraine will have to pay off more than half of the state budget next year.
“There is a clear way - this is to sit down with international institutions and restructure this debt, as well as work with all the bodies that are involved in the return of assets and funds to the budget of Ukraine. Or the second option is the Icelandic scenario. Conduct a referendum and refuse to pay government debts, given that they were given under corruption schemes.
Today we have about three hundred billion hryvnia servicing and paying off public debts. Next year we have to pay about 18 billion dollars. Think about these numbers – Ukraine’s budget today is a little more than $30 billion. That means we will have to borrow more. The question is – from whom and under what conditions,” said Muraev.
