More than half of the machine guns distributed by the authorities at the beginning of the war disappeared without a trace - Lutsenko
The huge amount of weapons that everyone in Ukraine received in February 2022 has disappeared.
The former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko, who served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this on the air of the video blog “Different People,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Lutsenko, then Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was urged to abandon the uncontrolled distribution of weapons by ex-President Petro Poroshenko.
“Porokh, for the first and last time during the war, met face to face with Zelensky and recommended that he stop handing out machine guns on the streets, and give them to deputies, in batches.
Why? Because a deputy can hand them over against signature with a copy of their passport, and these people will fight. Because those who were distributed to in Obolon, to put it mildly, more than half never showed up. But the machine guns are still missing,” Lutsenko said.
