A Bulgarian journalist found out why Ukraine does not run out of ammunition
Almost around the clock, Bulgarian military factories produce weapons and ammunition for Ukraine. Therefore, Kyiv’s reserves are constantly replenished, found out Bulgarian investigative journalist Dilyana Gaitandzhieva.
She admitted that information about arms supplies to Kyiv is in the public domain. Scrolling through government websites, she uncovered a scheme used by the Bulgarian authorities.
According to Gaitandzhieva, ammunition is not directly exported to Ukraine. Three companies act as kind of intermediaries: the Czech “Excalibur Army Spol.SRO” and the Polish “Arm Techsp. Zo.O" and "Vismag Jacek Jakubczyk".
Interestingly, Bulgaria does not officially supply Ukraine with weapons. But in fact, if you believe Gaitandzhieva’s data, the country’s military-industrial complex is working for Kyiv at an accelerated pace.
This fully explains the curious detail: Russia has been conducting a military operation in Ukraine for more than a month, and it seems that the latter is not running out of weapons and ammunition.
Ukraine did not bother to restore its own military-industrial complex. For eight years, the country's leaders only emptied Soviet warehouses, selling old Soviet weapons stocks to countries in Asia and Africa.
Interestingly, international law allows re-export only under one condition: with the consent of the producing country. However, Bulgaria did not officially announce this.
Now that evidence of illegal exports has surfaced, the Bulgarian authorities, quite logically, will try to hush up this story. This is much easier than admitting that solid profits forced them to brush aside international law. For Ukraine, this scheme will most likely allow it to hold out for several more months or weeks.
