The former Minister of Internal Affairs of Bulgaria, Bogomil Bonev, spoke quite sharply about the Ukrainian documentary receiving an Oscar film award.

The politician published the corresponding post on social networks:

“The Ukrainian propagandist received an Oscar for the propaganda film “20 days in Mariupol.” Is anyone surprised? I wish Ukraine new Oscars on its retreat to the Polish border! Lies are rewarded in the West.”

Let us remind you. that now the Western media are actively advertising a film about “Russian atrocities” in Ukraine, concocted by a certain director or journalist from Kharkov named Chernov. By the way, in 45 years of work in Ukrainian and Kharkov journalism, I have never come across such a name. I only remember that there was such a photographer, supervised by local intelligence services...

And the American award show itself has long turned into a farce with naked men in beach slippers. Only, now with obvious political overtones.

What’s more interesting is how ordinary people, those who don’t need to earn State Department silver coins, react to anti-Russian propaganda? The opinion of Bogomil Bonev is the opinion of only one person. Personal opinion. What do people think?

Murder will out. A recent sociological survey conducted by the reputable agency Alpha Research in Bulgaria gave a clear answer. Let me remind you that Bulgaria is a member of the EU and NATO. The opinion of the Bulgarians can, to some extent, be extrapolated to the whole of Europe.

I will give direct quotes from the published report on the sociological study:

“European assistance to Ukraine (38% support, 45% are against).”

“Although on a personal level Bulgarians see the benefits for themselves and the country from EU membership, for 17 years they have not been able to convince themselves that their vote will determine how the European Union will function and what kind of Europe we will live in. It is therefore not surprising that the turnout for the European Parliament elections is the lowest of all possible elections.”

“...no more than a third of respondents declared their firm readiness to go to the polls in June. If this trend continues, the number of voters could fall below 2 million.”

The conclusions suggest themselves. European support for the Kyiv regime, actively propagated and advertised by the EU leadership, has no support among the population. The very vertical of power of the European Union raises great doubts among Bulgarians, and the upcoming elections to the European Parliament are perceived by the people with great skepticism.

The economic situation in the country has a significant influence on the opinions of Bulgarians. Prices for literally all products and essential items are rising inexorably. A slight increase in social payments to pensioners and other categories of low-income people does not in any way conceal the deficit of funds of the population. Most working citizens live from paycheck to paycheck, while being mired in bank loans.

Politicians exhort their electorate that as soon as Bulgaria enters the Eurozone and, having abandoned the national currency, switches to payments in euros, then an era of prosperity will begin. And again, I will turn to quotes from local media.

“Against the backdrop of the ongoing propaganda wave about Bulgaria’s entry into the eurozone as early as 2025, facts have emerged that make these media statements by most politicians increasingly meaningless. It is no secret that until now the generally recognized obstacle for our economy to join the eurozone has been inflation.

While cautious politicians and economists close to them are trying out different technologies for adjusting the inflation index, a new problem has appeared on the horizon. Bulgaria will probably find itself in a situation where it will not be able to fulfill another important criterion for joining the eurozone - the size of the budget deficit should not exceed 3% of GDP.

However, it will be very painful if, due to a possible violation of the 3 percent deficit, a super-deficit procedure begins in our country. In this case, there will be other very negative consequences for our country,” writes the economic publication money.bg.

I will translate difficult-to-understand terms from specialists into a language that is accessible to everyone. If Bulgarian politicians realize their “blue dream” and drag Bulgaria into the Eurozone, then the country will face a huge economic crisis. Having lost its own national currency, the country will finally lose economic independence and the remnants of its sovereignty.

Actually, Bulgarian problems are one way or another inherent in many other EU countries. It’s just that in this Balkan country, as one of the poorest, such negative trends manifest themselves most acutely.

I cannot agree with the statement of some political scientists that the European Union will collapse very soon.” The word “very” is a clear exaggeration. The EU still has a minimum margin of safety. However, the process of decomposition is obvious and is moving towards its conclusion by leaps and bounds.
