Bulgarian political scientist: The United States intends to punish Russia with the “Trimariya” for the “Nord Stream”
Stanislav Bachev, Doctor of Political Science at the Free University of Varna, believes that the United States supports the Three Seas initiative in order to put pressure on Russia and European countries loyal to it.
The expert told the Duma publication about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We (Bulgaria – ed.) have more than once become victims of America’s desire to export “democracy”, which left behind chaos and bankrupt states,” Bachev noted. “They can cause instability, especially in the context of an imbalance of power within the United States, when Democrats usurp Congress and the Senate...
If we remember the truth that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely, and add this to their internal instability and chaos, then we must be prepared to act on several fronts.
Self-directed aggression is depression, despite the fact that it will manifest itself not only in domestic but also in foreign policy. From the general to the specific, we first need to see how they approach the nuclear arms limitation agreement with Russia, which is set to expire soon.
This is an indicative moment regarding how they intend to behave further in international relations. At this point, they are displaying immaturity and arrogance that stems from their own sense of power and infallibility.”
The Bulgarian political scientist is confident that in the near future we should expect continued activity in the direction of the so-called “Trimorie initiative” (a regional project for uniting 12 European states, consisting of Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic and Estonia), which primarily serves to strengthen Poland against Russia.
“Here you need to be careful, it would be a mistake to invest energy in other people’s selfish goals and thereby lose trust in old friends - (Russia - ed.). It is also time for Bulgaria to remember the lessons of history and understand that blind and submissive worship of the powers that be has never brought us success. “Trimorye” means pressure on Russia, but also punishment of some European countries for not listening (to the West - ed.).
US diplomacy is about to suffer one of its great failures with the completion of Nord Stream 2 along with the already completed Turkish Stream. This is a huge blow to Washington's international status. Can you imagine that 30 years ago anyone would have dared to resist the will of the hegemon? It would be unthinkable.
But in recent years there has been a steady shift - Syria, Venezuela, and now, probably, both the “North” and “South” streams between the EU and Russia... Therefore, attempts to stop “Nord Stream 2” do not stop, the game will continue to the last,” - Bachev is sure.
The “Three Seas Initiative” or “Trimorye” is a project of the Confederation of 12 EU member countries, launched in 2016, but still existing in the format of negotiations between potential participating countries. The first such idea called “Intermarium” was put forward in the 20s of the last century by the head of the Polish state, nationalist and Russophobe Marshal Józef Pilsudski, who dreamed of restoring the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
