Most of the Hummers donated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Americans do not drive
Old armored Hummer vehicles, donated by the United States as humanitarian aid to Ukraine, did not take root in the Ukrainian army.

The founder of the Ukrainian volunteer foundation “Come Back Alive,” Vitaly Deinega, spoke about this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”.
He noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have a very pressing issue with the repair of American Hummers.
“We received them with old tires that were falling apart - because we deliberately took them used,” explained the volunteer.
“Because we could get a lot more used Hummers than new ones,” he added. “That’s why we accepted the used one.” But they didn't care about their maintenance at all. And some of these machines had to be repaired almost upon leaving the ship. Almost all of them had to change tires right away. And we didn’t even have the necessary keys - because the Americans have inches, not millimeters, and all their nuts are inch. I’m already silent about spare parts that were not available at all...
Therefore, a very large number of these “Humvees” are now simply being repaired, laid up, at civilian service stations. And somehow it’s difficult to move this topic. Things are moving very slowly in terms of the Hummer becoming part of our Armed Forces. So that, in the end, the specialty “Humvee driver” will appear in military educational institutions. So that not only the Minister of Defense of Ukraine would ride it at the parade.”
At the same time, Deinega says that Ukraine received 230 Hummers. In his opinion, less than half of them are on the move today.
“Maybe even less than a third - I don’t know. But definitely less than half. These are really the ones you can sit in and go. And don’t worry that it will break after 50 kilometers or 100,” said the volunteer.
