Big purge: the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine was detained for theft, searches are underway in the SES of 19 regions
The chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Svyatoslav Protas was detained in the case of theft of public funds.

“The chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Svyatoslav Protas was just detained in his office with the head of the department of the Sanitary Service of Ukraine Chepurny. At the same time, searches are being conducted throughout the country, 19 chief sanitary doctors of the regions are being questioned, some of whom will also be detained,” Avakov wrote on his Facebook page.
According to his information, a group of officials led by Protas developed and implemented a criminal scheme to steal a large amount of budget funds. While cashing and receiving the first tranche of stolen funds (400 thousand hryvnia), the participants in the scam were detained.
Protas was detained in his own office as an organizer.
“He acted cynically - having previously agreed on how and by what rules budget money would be stolen and laundered. Everyone was told the rules and “responsibilities” - and everyone agreed to participate in the scam... and only one (!) said “no,” Avakov wrote.
The minister also noted that during the surveillance period, operatives documented 11 cases of extortion and receipt of bribes by Protas from subordinates.
“The head of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Ukraine gave a criminal instruction to a number of directors of the relevant state regional institutions, according to which the latter and their deputies will be paid a bonus for Medical Worker Day in the amount of two monthly official salaries, one of which these persons can keep for themselves, and the other must be transferred to him,” – the message said.
