More than a third of all Ukrainian expenses prescribed in the draft state budget for 2019 are the return of old debts taken out by the state at interest. Economist Viktor Skarshevsky stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The largest item of state budget expenditure is servicing and repaying the national debt. In the draft budget for next year, 38% of all expenses are provided for repaying the national debt. This is where our government's real priorities are. And the national debt will continue to grow. According to the draft budget, the national debt for 2019 will increase by at least a billion dollars,” the expert said.
