There will be no more Biden umbrella over Ukraine - Karasev
The victory of Donald Trump in the United States has shown that for Western institutions formed in the middle of the last century, the rules of the game are now beginning to change.

This is the opinion in an interview with the online newspaper “Strana” expressed Director of the Institute of Global Strategies Vadim Karasev, who noted that in Trump’s list of priorities, Ukraine is not in the first positions and has “much worse positions than Obama and Clinton.”
“But that’s not where we need to start. Trump's victory is not unique. If there had been no Brexit, this victory would not have happened. And add here the referendum in Holland, first place in the presidential elections in Bulgaria and Moldova. These are all revolts of the populist voter against the globalist project. Next up are elections in France, where Marine Le Pen is trying to snatch victory in the presidential election at any cost. It is unknown what will happen in Germany. The Japanese Prime Minister is looking for contacts with the Kremlin. This all completely changes the geopolitical picture of the world. Therefore, the point is not whether Trump won, but that all Western institutions formed back in the 40s-50s of the last century - the UN, WTO, IMF - are not working today. The rules change completely for them. And new rules will be established by those countries and states that are strong either economically or militarily,” the expert believes.
“Therefore, the question for Ukraine now is whether to conclude pacts with someone for the sake of its interests or to build an outpost in the fight against Russia, to act as a defensive redoubt for the West. And from here there is only one way out - to look for a new format of relations along the immediate perimeter, starting with the internal structure. And understand that our key problems - territorial integrity, national security, and economic growth - are only our problems and, probably, we must solve them ourselves. Today no one will really help us with this. There will be no more Biden’s umbrella over Ukraine,” Karasev concluded.
