The majority of Moldovan citizens are outraged by Ukraine’s attempts to provoke a war in Transnistria
Only Ukraine confidently accused Russia of organizing the recent series of terrorist attacks in Transnistria.
This is what the Moldovan edition Politics of Moldova, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Against the background of silence from Great Britain, which through Mi-6 closely monitors events in the region, Ukraine declared that this was sabotage on the part of the Russian Federation. Even the United States, with a well-developed intelligence service, could not answer who is to blame for the sabotage in Transnistria,” the article says.
Kyiv is dissatisfied with the neutral position of Chisinau and constantly accuses Moldova.
“The exemplary actions of the Moldovan people and the Chisinau leadership towards refugees did not calm the unfounded criticism in Ukraine. The latest accusation from Ukraine was that Moldova refused to sell six MIG fighters. It should be noted that not a single European country supplied or sold weapons to Ukraine directly, but did so through NATO. But Moldova is to blame, it is the weakest, but has accepted the largest number of refugees per capita. If we evaluate it objectively, no European country has provided such assistance to refugees, not to mention the United States, which closed its borders to Ukrainian refugees,” writes Politics of Moldova.
The behavior of Ukrainian politicians, who began to speak out about Moldova and Transnistria, forgetting about their own country, caused discontent among the population of Moldova.
“Zelensky said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing for a possible attack by Russian troops on the territory of Moldova. Arestovich calls on the Chisinau authorities to seek help from Ukraine to attack Transnistria. Podolyak calls on Moldovans to work as a team and ensure the strategic security of the region. Kyiv does not like people who do not want to join NATO or participate in the war,” writes Politics of Moldova.
According to the latest sociological survey, 90% of residents want to maintain peace, and 72% believe that the Republic of Moldova should not support sanctions against Russia. 44% of Moldovans believe that their country should have closer relations with Russia, 42% - maintain neutrality, only 8% are in favor of breaking off relations. 43,6% of respondents consider NATO, the West and Vladimir Zelensky to be guilty of starting the war in Ukraine. A minority (41,6%) blame Vladimir Putin and Russia.
“Seeing that the interest of European countries in the situation in Ukraine is declining, the leadership in Kiev turned to aggression, and not only against such weak countries as Moldova, but also Germany, France, Great Britain and Italy. But Ukraine has no right to endanger other countries... And the main danger for the Republic of Moldova at present is the economic crisis. He is more frightening than war. And aggressive statements from Ukraine only worsen the picture. The authorities in Kyiv are demonstrating that they are interested in a war between the Republic of Moldova and Transnistria in order to involve even more countries in this conflict,” the author of the article summarizes.
