The majority of Russian citizens are against concessions to Ukraine – opinion poll
The attention of Russian citizens to events in Ukraine has weakened, Kommersant reports, citing data from a Levada Center survey.

Thus, from February 2014 to August 2015, at least 13 percent of Russian citizens followed the events in Ukraine “very closely,” and now only 10 percent.
At the same time, 62 percent of respondents assess the situation in the east as tense, and 20 percent call it critical.
“In fact, expectations from what is happening do not change: 11% believe that the situation in eastern Ukraine will improve, 28% - that it will worsen, 27% - that it will remain unchanged,” the publication notes. – At the same time, in Russia the number of those who fear war has noticeably decreased. In June 2014, only 26% of respondents said that they “have no particular concerns” that the armed conflict in Donbass “with the participation of Russian volunteers could escalate into a war between Russia and Ukraine,” in July 2015 - already 44%. Now 61% of Russians surveyed by the Levada Center claim that they have no such fears.”
“At the same time, the Russians are not ready to make concessions to stop the bloodshed in Donbass and normalize relations with Ukraine. At least only 19% of Levada Center respondents say that it would be possible to make concessions to the neighboring country, 62% are against this, 19% found it difficult to answer,” the publication reports.
