Most Croats are against training Ukrainian military in their country
More than half of Croatian residents spoke out against training Ukrainian military personnel in their country.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Croatian edition of the NOVA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The news program of the Croatian edition of the NOVA TV channel, DNEVNIK, found out the attitude of Croatian citizens to the armed conflict in Ukraine. The survey results were unexpected for the journalists themselves.
On the one hand, 69% of Croatians surveyed believe that “the truth is on Ukraine’s side.” 14% agreed that each side is responsible, and 8% of respondents believe that the truth is on Russia’s side.
On the other hand, 40% view what is happening as a conflict between NATO and Russia on the territory of Ukraine. 31% of respondents believe that this is a conflict between two countries over territory, and 20% - that this is a conflict between two countries with the indirect participation of third countries.
At the same time, 57% of respondents were against the idea of Ukrainian military personnel being trained on Croatian territory, to which the government of the country, headed by Andrei Plenkovic, agreed. Slightly more than a third – 34% of Croats – support this decision. 9% were undecided on the answer to all the questions asked.
Как reported “PolitNavigator”, Croatian President Zoran Milanovic stated that as commander-in-chief he would oppose the training of the Ukrainian military on the territory of his country.
