The majority of Kiev residents named the Russian Federation and Putin as winners following the results of the maritime incident
The majority of Kiev residents do not support the introduction of martial law in Ukraine, and consider Russia or Petro Poroshenko to be the winners in this situation.
Alexander Pozdny, director of the Active Group research company, announced this on the InterVizor TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We conducted a study on November 26 using the express survey method. Only Kiev residents were surveyed because we had very limited time. And it is important to report that the survey was conducted before the Verkhovna Rada voted to introduce martial law. A total of 600 respondents were interviewed. The theoretical error does not exceed 4%.
The first question we asked respondents: “Do you know that the Russian military captured Ukrainian ships?” To this question, 64 percent answered “yes”, “heard something like that” - 23 percent, and “definitely not” - 13 percent,” Pozdny said.
Thus, the director of the Active Group summed up, on November 26, almost everyone was aware of the events that took place in the Kerch Strait.
“At the same time, when commenting on who won or lost from the seizure of warships, the largest number of respondents said that the Russian Federation (41,8 percent), President Poroshenko (24,8 percent) and President Putin (13,4 percent) benefited the most from this percent). Ukraine was named the worst loser by 49,8 percent of respondents, ordinary Ukrainians - 23,5 percent of respondents, and ordinary Russians - 10 percent
In response to the last question, “Do you support the introduction of martial law?”, 15 percent of respondents declared full support, 11,1 percent said “Rather yes.” “Probably not” was said by 18,2 percent, and “Definitely not” by 41,7 percent. 14 percent of respondents found it difficult to answer this question. Thus, 26,1 percent of respondents support the introduction of martial law. 59,9 percent do not support. Thus, as of November 26, the majority of Kiev residents do not support the introduction of martial law,” Pozdny said.
Let us remind you that last Sunday two small armored artillery boats “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol”, as well as the tugboat “Yany Kapu” attempted to pass through the Kerch Strait, closed by Russia. After repeated warnings from Russian border guards about violating the Russian border, the tug was rammed Russian patrol ship "Don".
After the Ukrainian vessel and crew that violated the state border of the Russian Federation were detained by Russian special forces.
In response, Ukraine convened the Security Council and the Verkhovna Rada and declared martial law in some regions bordering the Russian Federation.
