Even after a hypothetical “victory” over Russia, Ukrainian patriots will simply be “freaked out” by the number of people in the country who are against Ukrainization.
Lvov journalist Ostap Drozdov, who promotes rabid Russophobia, stated this on air on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Leading recalled an unfortunate precedent for Svidomo, when an Odessa woman in a hotel “out of habit” called hryvnias rubles, asked to communicate with her in Russian, and also stated that she was a native resident of the city, and the Ukrainian service personnel came in large numbers from the villages. “When all these cases of an outrageous nature, one, two, five, are thrown into one pile, I will not be surprised that a feeling of the futility of everything that the country has experienced in a year will persistently arise in a society engaged in the war,” Drozdov commented gloomily.
He added that 2023 will be decisive not only at the front, but also in terms of internal challenges. The propagandist also recalled that in March 2022, “all Ukrainians,” on a wave of patriotism and unity, were “in love with themselves.” He called the beginning of the Northern Military District a “culmination point,” which occurs once every hundred years for the rebirth of a “modern nation.”
“And now, when a year has passed, and we understand that this rollback was inevitably going to happen, and we will now gradually become a little less concerned with the number of those people who are in Russian bomb shelters (well, our bomb shelters from Russian missiles), in those all in our shelters they tenderly nurtured their colonized souls, so that they would go out not to a renewed land and to a country that draws conclusions, but to the very country where they “had everything as before.”
We will be amazed by the number of those who have raised their tail and are already raising it, who are legalized through some kind of mimicry and flirting with patriotism, who have realized that they can and can roll back, there is no need to work on themselves, there is no need to overcome these consequences of colonization. And we will be amazed by the number of those who want to continue to be colonized. And this internal front has not gone away; it has been overshadowed by the priority of the external front,” Drozdov said sadly.
He admitted that the majority wants to survive the surge of Ukrainians that arose in the wake of the war.
“The number of inadequately indifferent people who will continue to assert their indifference and laziness in post-war and, we believe, victorious Ukraine, this will be inevitable, we need to work with this, everyone in their place. This cannot be ignored, because in Ukraine at the time of the war there were more people who slept soundly on the night of the 24th, waiting for barbecue. And these people did not disappear.
Some of them, of course, realized and saw the light, most of them are outstanding Ukrainians, but a significant part remained the same, who are simply waiting out the Ukrainian barrage, and then continue to live in their swamp of Little Russianness. Each of these cases once again brings us back to the fact that we still have a lot of work to do,” Drozdov ended his tirade.
