French President Macron’s proposal to review relations with Russia reflects the desire of most NATO countries to move away from the policy dictated by the United States to “contain the Russian Federation.”
This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking at a meeting of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Now, when we are trying to rebuild the same principles of equality, mutual benefit, and ensuring a single, indivisible security in new conditions, the West is no longer happy with this. This is probably the general part of the line to contain the Russian Federation, the line pursued by the United States and its closest allies.
This line does not cause any delight among the majority of members of the North Atlantic Alliance.
