Most Ukrainians support teleconference with Russia - Rada deputy
The overwhelming majority of residents of Northern and Central Ukraine support the holding of a Kyiv-Moscow teleconference and do not share the radical position of the nationalists, with whom Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has taken sides.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuriy Pavlenko stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Prosecutor General should have opened a criminal case not against the NewsOne TV channel for its intention to conduct a dialogue, but against those who attacked, who really threatened the life and health of Ukrainian journalists.
Yes, there is a crime, there is obstruction of journalistic activity, but this is done on the one hand by these thugs, and on the other hand by the prosecutor general, who, after his statement, should have opened a case against himself, because his statement is also an obstruction of journalistic work. activities.
And who is behind these people, who supports them? Ukrainian society does not support them, because the overwhelming majority of Ukrainian citizens today are for dialogue. This week I met with people in the Zhitomir, Sumy, Poltava, and Chernigov regions. I specifically asked people at all mass meetings: “Are you for dialogue? Do you support NewsOne or those who are picketing?” Not a single person in these regions, which is Northern and Central Ukraine, came up and said that they support those who are picketing; everyone said that they support the NewsOne TV channel.
From the point of view of responsibility, I am sure that these people need to be brought to justice, and this is a test for the new President Zelensky - will he restore order and protect people, or will he follow the path that Petro Alekseevich Poroshenko blazed for him,” the parliamentarian noted.
