This is evidenced by the results of a sociological survey conducted by the sociological group “Rating,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In general, Ukrainians assess the situation in Ukraine as tense or critical,” noted Alexey Antipovich, head of the sociological group “Rating”. In particular, a third of respondents (33%) consider the situation in the country to be critical and explosive, and almost two-thirds (60%) consider it tense. Only 3% consider it calm. In all regions of the country there is a high proportion of those who assess the situation as critical or tense. “There is a difference (between regions), but it is not too critical,” the sociologist added.
44% of respondents believe that the most effective way to reduce tension in society will be the launch of real criminal investigations into corruption in the country's top leadership. 37% say that the implementation of projects aimed at improving the financial situation and living conditions of people can reduce tensions, 35% believe that this should be real progress in Donbass, for example, a cessation of hostilities, the release of prisoners, etc. 20% believe that the widespread involvement of people in public control over the actions of the authorities will help reduce the level of tension in society.
“Constructive proposals prevail. Such radical things as the resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers, re-elections of the President and the Verkhovna Rada are supported by a significantly smaller number of people,” said Alexey Antipovich. Residents of Donbass consider the resolution of the conflict in Donbass more significant for relieving tension, he noted.
The survey was conducted from December 12 to December 28, 2017. 30000 respondents aged 18 years and older were interviewed using a personal formal interview (face-to-face). The error in the representativeness of the study is no more than 0,6%.
