A big bustle instead of a holiday in already small Odessa
Young man, are you interested in how we are going to celebrate City Day on September 2? – And I will say it without signing for everyone. The young and green, who just need an excuse to hang out and fool around in the crowd and to the music, the bad ones and the newcomers, who today are running either a ball or a funeral feast...
You know, even in the most difficult times, we did not have such a thing that on the streets, and even on such days, any person (or his car) could be stopped and searched without any charges for “the presence of prohibited and dangerous objects” .
Like – you’re going to a folk festival – don’t you have a Mauser or a bazooka in your bosom, or even a couple of kilos of TNT in the trunk?! – No, of course, it happened, but only under the Romanians. When every Odessa resident was automatically considered by the occupiers as a potential partisan and anti-fascist. And today, under the most democratic and European government, which literally neither sleeps nor eats, making us more and more free every day... from money, property and the last illusions, how should I perceive this?
Definitely - as another blatant insult to the spirit and traditions, and the very history of my City! After all, for THEM, Odessa is not at all the brainchild of Catherine the Great, the anniversary of whose founding decree we celebrate on September 2. They, at the level of the Verkhovna Rada, have already imposed an idiotic decision on the “600th anniversary of Kotsubiev.” The town, which once, and for a very short time, was either here or not at all, was invented by a mediocre and falsifying historian. And therefore, on the one hand, they want to humiliate the residents of Odessa even more, once again, by showing “who is the boss and master here.” And on the other hand, to impose on us their paranoia, which has already become a tradition. They say that evil Muscovites are only dreaming and dreaming of how to harm the generous Odessa patriots of Ukraine during... the celebration of a day directly related to the common imperial history.
Would you believe such a crazy idea?! – I definitely don’t! But I can easily allow any vileness on the part of our “defenders of national interests.” They are no strangers to creating provocations, sometimes bloody, and then find the extreme ones from among those. who is standing in their way. They will make a fuss and name the culprits, attributing everything to “the machinations of the aggressor country” and the madness of invented separatists.
And what should we celebrate?! – The fact that Odessa has already become less than a million residents, despite the influx of Roguls? After all, our mortality rate is simply off scale. And those who want to survive and simply live like humans are trying with all their might to leave their city. With tears and hope of return. But... to a free Odessa, not an Odessa occupied by cattle!
But I won’t leave, because someone still needs to stay and preserve the remnants of the spirit of that, real Odessa. But I won’t go to all these pandemoniums at gunpoint and constant trouble. Disgusting!
And don’t even look at Vakarchuk howling on the Potemkin Stairs (I’m not talking about listening!) and the grimacing old corrupt jesters from “Masks”. It’s disgusting to feel in a city captured even by non-barbarians. After all, they were courageous and brave guys for all their savagery. And here - here we are under the yoke of farmer punks who are creating chaos, hiding behind the backs of “defenders of order” armed to the teeth.
We saw this order when they burned people alive and destroyed monuments to war heroes. No, they have their own jackal funeral feast and saturnalia - we have our own City Day. But this time we will celebrate separately from them. And with completely different toasts...
