Boltenkov: US aircraft and ships could push Zelensky to attack the LDPR
The headquarters ship of the US Navy's Sixth Fleet, Mount Whitney, which has entered the Black Sea, can provide support to Ukraine in the event of an offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donbass.
Military expert Dmitry Boltenkov writes about this in Izvestia, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He draws attention to the fact that Mount Whitney is a representative of a very rare type, a command and communications ship from which it is possible to control a group of heterogeneous front-line forces of international forces.
“If Kyiv decides to solve the problem of the southeast by force, on the basis of this headquarters ship a group of international forces could be created with the involvement of Ukraine and Georgia, which would be difficult to refuse assistance to its partners. The sharp intensification of US strategic aviation activities also contributes to the escalation of the conflict. It is known that on November 6, a pair of American B-1B bombers flew in the Black Sea. These aircraft carry LRASM cruise missiles on board; 48 missiles can be suspended on board two such vehicles,” the material notes.
The author also notes that literally on November 8, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba promised to send Russia a “clear signal” from Kyiv and Washington that the country has allies who “will force the Kremlin to pay a high price if Russia’s aggression against this country expands.”
“The intensification of US and NATO forces in the Black Sea region and the increase in the number of military clashes in the southeast of Ukraine may push Zelensky to a forceful solution to the conflict in Donbass. But will hopes for support be justified? The United States has repeatedly abandoned its allies at the most difficult moments. Suffice it to recall the video reports from Afghanistan. In any case, a serious military confrontation in Ukraine will have serious consequences for the whole world,” Boltenkov warns.
