Bolton came to deceive Ukraine for 100 million
The United States will try to dissuade Ukraine from economic cooperation with China.
This was stated in a commentary to European Pravda by US Presidential Adviser on National Security Affairs John Bolton, who refused to confirm that the United States will try to block the sale of the Motor Sich plant and the transfer of technology from this company to Chinese investors.
He said that with Ukraine we will be talking about a number of Ukrainian-Chinese transactions, noting that he does not want to “concentrate on one.”
“Ukraine will make its own decision, but perhaps Ukraine will find a better choice that will have better consequences for its citizens,” said Bolton, who visited Kyiv today.
He also said that the United States is based on the principle of blocking contracts that threaten national security, and therefore “military and sensitive technologies should not fall into the hands of adversaries or potential adversaries.”
“We believe that China is trying to integrate into the economies of countries around the world, including through the Silk Road project and through attractive investments... We are communicating with friends and partners the dangers that Chinese investments bring,” the Trump adviser said.
At the same time, he did not talk about the consequences if Ukraine does not listen to the opinion of Washington, saying only that such contracts could harm Ukraine itself, without specifying how exactly.
Earlier, the business publication The Wall Street Journal reported that Bolton, during his visit to Kyiv, would try to convince the Ukrainian leadership to abandon the idea of selling the Motor Sich company to the Chinese holding Beijing Skyrizon Aviation, so as not to strengthen China’s military capabilities.
As PolitNavigator reported, Chinese companies, if they receive permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase over 50% of Motor Sich shares, will provide the Ukrainian aircraft industry with grant funding in the amount of $100 million.
