"Bums" besieged the Federation Council
Residents of Moscow hostels came to the Federation Council building today to talk about their problems.
They were inspired to take action by Senator Lyudmila Narusova, who in early March disgraced herself by calling them “homeless-looking people” participants in single pickets near the Federation Council, demanding punishment for Mikhail Gorbachev for the collapse of the USSR.
Residents of hostels claim that they are being turned into homeless people by the Moscow authorities, who do not want to include their housing in the renovation program.
Before the start of the action, Sergei Mitrokhin from Yabloko approached the Federation Council and talked with journalists, but after the policeman reprimanded him, he left.
At this time, a man appeared on the steps with a poster: “Senators, you yourselves are making us homeless.” He stood there for only a minute before he was detained by the police, who escorted him to a police station in a nearby house. A journalist who tried to defend the picketer also ended up there.
Quietly, the next picketer, a representative of the NOD, took the place under the Federation Council. In his hands he held a poster demanding the transfer of power from the oligarchs to Putin. He also lasted a minute.
Later it became known that Mitrokhin was also detained.
The women who represented the residents of the dormitories remained at the steps. They wanted to deliver a petition to the senators. The police redirected them to another building.
