As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, Bondarenko and Vittel argued about whether Moscow has its own policy towards Serbia, with the first claiming that it does, and the second treating the topic with noticeable skepticism.

“I, as a person who tries to regularly visit Serbia, where I communicate with comrades from the embassies, and with our trade representatives - Andrei Niklaevich Khripunov, I see that they all work “with their tongues hanging out on their shoulders,” since they visit them every week some delegation from another ministry is coming,” Bondarenko told his interlocutor.

According to him, this happens because they have nowhere to go.

“Previously, these delegations went to Western Europe, to the UK, and somewhere else... And I really want to tell you that the level of Russian-Serbian relations that we have today is the highest point of relations between our countries. There has never been such a level of relations,” says the creator of “The Balkanist”.

He also gave an example that clearly shows how Russian business is beginning to develop the Serbian market.

“Andrei Khripunov recently told me a wonderful story in Belgrade. Everyone knows who they were to us [residents of the USSR and Russia] Yugoslav builders. Demigods. So now there is a company that is engaged in glazing the complex “Belgrade on the Water” - and this is the Belgrade “Moscow City”, near the Sava River, in a beautiful place, several dozen blocks away, high-rise buildings are being erected there... And the company that is engaged in glazing this complex is a Russian company,” Bonarenko noted.
